About This Game With the help of over 18,000 Kickstarter backers, Narrative Designer Chris Avellone and composer Inon Zur, Owlcat Games is proud to bring you the first isometric computer RPG set in the beloved Pathfinder tabletop universe. Enjoy a classic RPG experience inspired by games like Baldur's Gate, Fallout 1 and 2 and Arcanum. Explore and conquer the Stolen Lands and make them your kingdom!Explore the Stolen Lands, a region that has been contested territory for centuries. Hundreds of kingdoms have risen and fallen in these lands, and now it is time for you to make your mark—by building your own kingdom! To do so, you’ll need to survive the harsh wilderness and the threat of rival nations… as well as threats within your own court. Customize your character with a wide range of classes and powers including specialized archetypes, powerful arcane and divine spells, choosing from a multitude of class abilities, skills, and feats. Pathfinder allows players to create heroes (or villains) that fit both their individual gameplay styles and their personalities.Meet a diverse cast of companions and NPCs, including iconic characters from the Pathfinder setting itself. You’ll need to decide who to trust and who to watch carefully, as each companion has an agenda, alignment, and goals that may differ from yours. Your journey will become their journey, and you’ll help shape their lives both in the moment and well into the future.Conquer new regions as claim them as your own, carving your kingdom from the wilderness. While classic dungeon crawling and exploration lie at the heart of this adventure, diplomacy, politics, and kingdom development are also part of the challenge. Choose your allies well, and keep them close while exploring ancient tombs and ruins — and while dealing with politics in your own court. Your kingdom is a reflection of your character and your choices throughout the game. It is a living thing shaped by your alignment, your allies, and your ability to lead your people. Not only can your kingdom expand, opening up new territories and allowing you to build new towns and communities, but your capital city will physically change based on your decisions, your policies, and even whom you choose to ally with. As your kingdom grows, a number of factions and neighboring countries will come to you to seek favor—and to test your strength.Explore - Conquer - Rule! The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game is an evolution of the 3.5 rules set of the world's oldest fantasy roleplaying game, designed by Paizo, Inc using the feedback of tens of thousands of gamers just like you. Whether you’re new to the Pathfinder® universe or you’re a seasoned veteran, Pathfinder: Kingmaker is the CRPG you’ve been waiting for. a09c17d780 Title: Pathfinder: KingmakerGenre: RPGDeveloper:Owlcat GamesPublisher:Deep SilverFranchise:PathfinderRelease Date: 25 Sep, 2018 Pathfinder: Kingmaker Download 2gb Ram My first impressions of this game are positive.I can tell that the developers worked hard and put a lot of effort into the game. I do not like that the game has a season pass however, and if it weren't for the fact that the game was on sale, I would have hit the ignore button.I paid 60 bucks for a complete game finally, but only thanks to STEAM.This irks me to no end, but... I have to admit that the game itself is sound. It is based on a tried and true system of role playing: Dungeons and Dragons. It is the 3.5 edition, which is pretty sweet. I am used to the Advanced 2nd Edition, but I am not too old to learn new tricks.I would love to see more of these games being developed.Pros:~ D and D system of combat~ In depth storyline (The characters really do connect with you)~ Character voicing is really good~ Graphics are above standardCons:~ It has a season pass. (Might as well just be Capcom or EA ffs)~ 2D world. (This game would be 50 times easier to play and more comfortable if it was like Divinity: Original Sin in regards to the camera)All in all, it is a solid game so far, but has unfortunately followed the greedy trend that companies like EA and Capcom have tried to instill in the industry by demanding you pay more than the game is worth in order to get the game you paid for.I am not sure when these companies are going to get it; we aren't stupid money hogs that have an endless supply of disposable income to buy video games. I am glad I was able to buy this game on sale with its season pass intact for $60. I only recommend you doing so as well, because it is a great game, but not worth more than $60.. This is the first review I've ever written. After playing Kingmaker for about 200 hours and restarting 4 times, I have to say I very much enjoy this game. Having read a lot of negative reviews I can also say I agree with more of them. The kingdom Management piece if very poorly explained and it took several replays for me to figure out that you have to keep all your stats equal. I could go into detail about the kingdom management but I think all that needs to be said about it's flaws has been so why beat a dead horse. There are however a few things that do quite bother me. 1. Why are there only so many portraits for Characters. Sure, it's a small thing but I hate coming up with a character concept and continually having to use pictures that don't fit my character at all. 2. Why the season pass? to me it feels like a total cash grab. The reason people bought this game was because they like upfront costing. You pay for your content and you get it. Owlcat and Deep Silver have basically created a DLC that you have to continually pay for over time which is kind of infuriating to me. 3. The continual patches were and are a bit annoying. No matter how many times I play I always find something wrong or broken. In the end though I am glad I bought the game and look forward to upcoming content as long as the content is a fix price DLC that I can pay for once and get the content.. This is all I've ever wanted from a CRPG, to the point where i'll be OK if we never get a neverwinter nights 3.Most complaints about the game I've seen come from a place of frustration, which is understandable given that the game needs you to understand it's rules, however it's an extremely well balanced game. Most CRPGs become boring after a few yours, your character is just too powerful and most encounters aren't challenging. Remember neverwinter nights: hordes of the underdark? Where not a single encounter is difficult at all since the game doesn't know what to do with a level 15 character, except for a ridiculously overpowered mephistopheles at the end, undermining all your progress? That doesn't happen here, the difficulty is carefully built and although the bosses are difficult, the creatures who came before him are equivalent; if you got through them you can get through the boss, or at the very least you have an idea of what kind of challenge you'll face. Pathfinder makes you think as if this was a tabletop RPG, you HAVE to use your skills and not just the damage dealing spells. Too many monsters? Cast web, some of them will get stuck and you can kill them individually. Is a monster too powerful? Curse him, dispell his buffs. Use the tools available to you. Most real time CRPGS fail at that, the few successful attempts are in turn based RPGs like divinity original sin, but games like pillars of eternity start really hard and require you to think, but it quickly turns into neverwinter, and a high level character practically plays on automatic. This is not a min-max game at all, you just need to understand how the game works, you can't just savescum your way through difficulty (unless you have infinite patience to do so). Not only that, but if you're not into building a powerful character, just pick a premade build and completely ignore the character sheet.Maybe the developers could give more attention to the fact that you can't just win encounters by using the IA and mindlessly fight, but it horrifies me to think that this game could become something else over negative criticism. This is a problem with how information is provided to the player, not a problem with game balance. I cannot imagine any other CRPG where you get to be this powerful and still face difficult encounters on normal creatures.. I have only played the game on easy mode, but I have this to say:1) It is definitely not that difficult. If you can't beat it on hard, lower the difficulty. No brainer, really.2) Don't know anything about the balance. On the difficulty I play (and I play ALL RPGs on Easy, beacause I don't waste my time on trying to be cool when I can just enjoy the story) this is not an issue.3) The story is OK, but it's not great. The characters are the weakest link: most feel generic fantasy stuff, with a few notable exceptions such as the eschatological dwarf.4) The realm management is great. While not a strategy game, you really do feel personally in charge of your kingdom. In fact, it is much superior to DA:Inquisition. To round up: I would definitely recomend the game to any fans of DA:Origins, Icewind Dale or any of the older Bioware titles, also to those who want a blend of strategy and RPG. I would not recomend it to anyone who thinks they are great gamers and that the world of game development revolves around them.. This game is what hardcore gamers have been waiting for. It's deep, it's expansive, and yet, it's all put together well. I've heard that it can be a glitchy mess, and that may be true, but for me personally, I haven't had any problems at all. This game can be very difficult. But difficulty is highly customizeable. Everything is. I love this game. Instantly made its way to my top ten (I own over 400 games on Steam, and over two hundred more that are either not on steam, or not on PC, and I've been playing since 1990 or so).. I've been an RPG fan for a long time, but always had trouble getting into CRPG games (Neverwinter Nights, BG1\/2, etc.). Then I played Pathfinder Kingmaker and that all changed. The story is dynamic, the gameplay is fun and diverse, and the characters are well-written. I've never played tabletop Pathfinder (or D&D for that matter), but the rules were easy enough to pick up on. The community is great too, with lots of helpful folks on both the steam forums and reddit. The last act of the game is a bit of a chore, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Can't recommend this game enough!
